Опис

Hairy Goldenrod is a compact native perennial of dry, rocky or sandy open areas, shale barrens, rocky outcrops, and infertile upland soils across the northeastern United States, recognizable among goldenrods by its densely hairy (hispid) stems and leaves that give the entire plant a soft, grayish appearance. The small clusters of bright yellow flowers are produced on short, compact stems from August through September and attract native bees, small butterflies, and other pollinators visiting rocky, dry habitats where fewer plant species grow. Distinguished from other goldenrods by its smaller stature, hairy texture, and preference for lean, rocky, dry soils, Hairy Goldenrod is an excellent native choice for rock gardens, dry slopes, sandy paths, and xeriscapes where most goldenrods would languish. Direct sow seeds in fall in dry, rocky or sandy, slightly acidic to neutral, well-drained soil in full sun; established plants are very drought-tolerant and require no supplemental irrigation or soil amendment. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 12–18 дюймів Висота: 12–36 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–21 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 13–21°C

Hairy Goldenrod is well-adapted to dry rock outcrops, ledges, and sandy open areas and is particularly drought-tolerant among goldenrods once established.
