Опис
Silverrod is the only native goldenrod in eastern North America with white flowers — a distinctive botanical curiosity in a genus that otherwise produces exclusively yellow blooms — and also the most shade-tolerant member of the group, growing in dry to moderately moist, rocky or sandy woodland understories, cliff edges, and open barrens where other goldenrods cannot establish. The wiry stems produce small spikes of creamy-white flowers in late summer and fall that provide nectar for late-season native bees and small butterflies at a time when shade garden options for pollinators are limited. Native to rocky woodlands, sandy barrens, and open forest margins from Quebec south to Georgia, Silverrod is a valuable niche plant for the dry shade garden where its tolerance of drought, poor soil, and low light makes it surprisingly adaptable. Direct sow seeds in fall in dry, rocky or sandy, acidic, well-drained soil in partial shade to full sun; established plants self-seed modestly and form long-lived clumps without aggressive spreading.
Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт
Відстань між рослинами: 12–18 дюймів
Висота: 12–36 дюймів

Час посадки: -8–-2 тижнів осіння посадка
Direct sow seeds in fall in dry to moderately moist, rocky or sandy, acidic, well-drained soil in partial shade to full sun. Silverrod is uniquely adapted to the dry, shaded conditions of rocky woodland understories where most goldenrods will not thrive — do not plant in wet, heavy, or overly fertile soil.
