Опис

Plant rhizome divisions in moist, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil in partial to deep shade; myoga is the only ginger species that genuinely prefers shade, making it one of the most valuable edible plants for the shaded food garden. The edible parts are the flower buds and young shoots that emerge directly from the ground in late summer and fall — they are sliced and used as a fresh garnish in Japanese cuisine with a mild ginger-citrus flavor. The tall, arching reed-like stems make attractive foliage throughout summer. In zone 7–11 the roots are winter-hardy and re-emerge each spring, slowly spreading to form a clump; divide every 3–4 years to maintain vigor. An outstanding shade-garden edible for Gulf Coast gardens where deep shade under trees is otherwise difficult to plant productively. Спосіб посадки: Розмноження діленням куща Відстань між рослинами: 12–18 дюймів Висота: 24–48 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–28 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 18–24°C
