Опис
Plant in well-drained, lean, alkaline to neutral soil in partial shade to full sun; white mistflower is one of the most spectacular fall-blooming native shrubs of the Texas Hill Country and Gulf South, covering itself in dense clusters of pure white, fluffy, ageratum-like flowers in October–November just when most other plants are going dormant. The fragrant flowers are outstanding for butterflies and late-season pollinators, including migrating monarch butterflies that use them as a critical nectar source during the fall migration. The plant is semi-evergreen in mild winters. It grows naturally in the shade of limestone canyon walls and cedars, making it one of the more shade-tolerant native fall-blooming shrubs available. The common name 'mistflower' refers to the soft, misty appearance of the white flower clusters. Cut back by one-third in early spring to encourage compact, dense growth.
