Weeping Willow

The Weeping Willow is a graceful, fast-growing shade tree with long, sweeping branches that trail nearly to the ground and sway in the slightest breeze. Plant in full sun in moist to wet soil, ideally near a pond or stream where its thirsty roots have ample water. Keep it well away from septic lines, drains, and foundations, as the aggressive roots seek out moisture. Water deeply and regularly, especially in dry spells and during establishment. Prune in late winter to remove crossing or damaged branches and to raise the canopy as it matures.
