Опис

Wand goldenrod is a native goldenrod of the Gulf Coastal Plain's seasonally wet habitats — wet pine flatwoods, boggy depressions, and moist savannas from New Jersey to Texas — producing upright, unbranched or sparsely branched stems with small basal leaves and terminal wand-like flower spikes of golden yellow that are distinctive among goldenrods for their narrow, column-like form rather than the typical arching plume. Because it grows naturally in wet, acidic, sandy soils — habitats shared with pitcher plants, sundews, and rare orchids in Gulf Coast longleaf pine country — it is an appropriate companion plant for native bog gardens, seepage slopes, and the moist margins of rain gardens in the Deep South. The late-summer to fall bloom coincides with peak monarch migration and provides a critical nectar source for southbound monarchs; native bees are also heavily attracted to the dense, accessible flower clusters. In Gulf Coast flatwoods restorations, wand goldenrod is a keystone species of the low pine savanna ground layer. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 12–24 дюймів Висота: 18–48 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–21 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 16–21°C
