Faded Trillium is a rare and geographically restricted sessile trillium endemic to the Savannah River drainage in the Piedmont and upper Coastal Plain of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, growing in moist, rich deciduous hardwood forests over well-drained, loamy soils. Its pale yellow to cream-colored sessile flowers are smaller and less showy than many trilliums — giving the species its common name — but the silvery-mottled leaves are attractive throughout the spring season. Classified as a species of conservation concern, this trillium should never be collected from wild populations; it is occasionally propagated by specialty native plant nurseries. Plant rhizome divisions in fall in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained acidic soil in the shade of deciduous trees, allowing the plants to emerge and bloom in spring before the canopy leafs out fully.

Plant nursery-propagated rhizome divisions in fall in moist, humus-rich, well-drained acidic soil in partial to full shade; this rare species is restricted to the Savannah River drainage in Georgia, South Carolina, and adjacent North Carolina and should only be sourced from licensed nurseries propagating their own stock.
