Опис

Texas false dragonhead is a rare native perennial of Texas endemic to rocky, moist, calcareous prairies and streamside meadows in the Edwards Plateau and surrounding regions — producing flower spikes similar to the more widely known obedient plant (Physostegia virginiana) but with deeper, brighter pink-purple flowers and a more compact, heat-adapted growth habit suited to south-central Texas conditions. Like other Physostegia species, the individual tubular flowers are hinged and will stay in position when pushed — the 'obedient' character that gives the related species its common name — making them a quirky, interactive feature of native garden tours. Pollinators, especially bumblebees and hummingbirds, visit the tubular, orchid-like flowers throughout summer; in gardens it provides a reliable mid-season pollinator spike when many spring bloomers have finished. It spreads by rhizomes similarly to its relatives and can form assertive colonies in moist, rich soil — site where spreading is welcome or divide regularly to control. Спосіб посадки: Розмноження діленням куща Відстань між рослинами: 18–30 дюймів Висота: 24–60 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–30 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 18–24°C
