Опис

Sow cold-stratified seed in fall in very well-drained, slightly alkaline to neutral, thin rocky soil in full sun — Tennessee coneflower is a Federally Threatened native species known from only a handful of cedar glade sites in Davidson and Rutherford counties of central Tennessee, where it grows in the extremely shallow, rocky, alkaline soil over limestone bedrock that characterizes these rare ecosystems. It is distinguished from other coneflowers by its upward-reflexed (rather than drooping) ray petals, giving the flower a more open, daisy-like appearance. The species was removed from the federal endangered species list in 2011 after recovery efforts increased its wild populations — a conservation success story. It performs well in gardens as a drought-tolerant, heat-hardy perennial for well-drained, sunny, alkaline to neutral soils in zones 4–9. Growing this species in cultivation helps maintain genetic diversity and reduces collection pressure on wild populations. Purchase only nursery-propagated plants. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 18–24 дюймів Висота: 18–36 дюймів Дні до схожості: 10–21 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 16–21°C
