Опис

Sweet pitcher plant earns its name from the intensely sweet, rose-like fragrance of its spring flowers — deep crimson-red blooms that open in April and May on tall, leafless stalks well above the pitchers, producing a fragrance that can be detected several feet away and is considered the most sweetly scented of any Sarracenia flower. The compact, narrow pitchers of this species grow 8–24 inches tall depending on the subspecies and have a distinctive red-veined, green-and-purple coloration that varies widely among the multiple recognized subspecies (Sarracenia rubra ssp. rubra, ssp. jonesii, ssp. gulfensis, ssp. wherryi, and others) distributed across different parts of the coastal plain from North Carolina to Alabama. Subspecies gulfensis (Gulf Coast sweet pitcher plant) is native to the Florida panhandle and Alabama, where it grows in seepage bogs adjacent to other Gulf Coast carnivorous plants; it is one of the most threatened Sarracenia subspecies due to habitat loss. As with all native pitcher plants, purchase only nursery-propagated specimens from ethical native plant dealers and grow in pure water, acidic medium, and full sun. Спосіб посадки: Висадка розсади Відстань між рослинами: 8–12 дюймів Висота: 8–24 дюймів Дні до схожості: 30–90 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 16–21°C
