Опис
Plant bulbs in wet to moist, slightly acidic soil in partial shade to full sun — the swamp spider lily is a spectacular Gulf Coast native wildflower found naturally in wet prairies, swampy ditches, stream banks, and the margins of cypress swamps from Texas to Georgia. In spring it produces clusters of 3–6 intensely fragrant, spider-like white flowers on leafless scapes 18–24 inches tall — the long, narrow, reflexed petals surrounding a prominent cup-like corona are architecturally striking and fill the garden with a rich, sweet perfume. The broad, strap-like leaves emerge in spring and die back by late summer. It naturalizes freely in wet conditions, forming spectacular colonies in roadside ditches and pond margins throughout the Gulf Coast region. Unlike many spider lilies, it thrives in partial shade and wet soils where most other bulbs fail. Excellent at the edge of rain gardens, retention ponds, and boggy low spots.

Plant bulbs 3–4 inches deep in wet to moist, slightly acidic, fertile soil in partial shade to full sun; swamp spider lily thrives in pond margins, wet ditches, and boggy, shaded spots where few other bulbs will grow. It is winter-hardy to zone 7 and resprouts reliably from established bulbs.
