Опис

Plant in moist to wet, slightly acidic to neutral soil in full sun to partial shade; scarlet rose mallow is one of the most spectacular native perennials of the eastern and Gulf Coast wetlands, producing enormous (6–8 inch) brilliant crimson-red flowers with a deep red eye on tall, robust, deeply palmate-lobed, dramatically architectural plants that grow vigorously in standing water or perpetually wet soil. The flowers have a uniquely delicate, crepe-paper texture and the color is among the most vivid reds in the plant kingdom. Unlike the hybrid hardy hibiscus (H. moscheutos x) which needs drier soil, H. coccineus must have consistently wet or saturated conditions to thrive — it grows naturally in swamps and tidal marshes. It dies back completely to the ground after frost but regrows vigorously from the roots each spring, emerging late (June in zone 9) and quickly reaching its mature height. An outstanding native for rain gardens, pond margins, water features, and wet spots that are otherwise difficult to plant attractively. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 36–60 дюймів Висота: 60–120 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–21 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 21–27°C
