Опис
Stout Goldenrod is a native perennial of rocky Appalachian woodlands, cliff edges, shale barrens, and dry to moderately moist forest margins from New England south to the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina, valued as one of the more shade-tolerant goldenrods and distinctive for its stout, robust stems and narrow, leafy inflorescence of bright yellow flowers in August and September. Unlike many goldenrods that require full sun and open meadows, Stout Goldenrod grows happily at shaded rock outcrops, rocky woodland edges, and forest margins with only partial sun, making it a useful native plant for challenging semi-shaded, rocky garden sites. The dense clusters of small yellow flowers attract native bees and late-season butterflies as one of the last significant nectar sources before fall in Appalachian woodland habitats. Direct sow seeds in fall in moist to moderately dry, rocky, slightly acidic, humus-rich soil in partial shade to full sun; established plants are long-lived and require little maintenance.

Direct sow seeds in fall in moist to moderately dry, rocky, slightly acidic, humus-rich woodland soil in partial shade to full sun. Stout Goldenrod is native to rocky Appalachian woodland edges and tolerates partial shade better than most goldenrods.
