Опис

Southern Wood Fern is the premier native wood fern for Gulf Coast gardens, native to the wet bottomland forests, swamp edges, and rich floodplains of the southeastern coastal plain from South Carolina and Georgia west to Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, where it grows alongside cypress, tupelo, and swamp chestnut oak in semi-permanently wet soils. Its large, dark green, leathery fronds are semi-evergreen to evergreen in zones 8–10, providing year-round structure in the shade garden, and the plant tolerates seasonal flooding better than almost any other wood fern. An outstanding choice for wet, shaded rain garden depressions, pond margins, and the moist shade under magnolias and live oaks in Gulf Coast landscapes. Divide clumps in spring; plant in heavily amended, consistently moist to wet, slightly acidic soil in partial to full shade, and mulch deeply to retain moisture during dry spells. Спосіб посадки: Розмноження діленням куща Відстань між рослинами: 24–36 дюймів Висота: 24–48 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–30 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 18–24°C
