Seckel Pear

Seckel is a small, intensely sweet American dessert pear often called the sugar pear. It shows useful resistance to fire blight and crops reliably in home orchards. Plant a second European pear such as Bartlett nearby for cross-pollination, in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Train to a central leader, thin the abundant fruit, and pick while still firm to ripen in cool storage.
