Опис
Round-Lobed Hepatica is a beloved native wildflower of eastern North American forests, producing delicate flowers ranging from white through pink to lavender and blue in late winter to very early spring, often blooming while snow still lingers around its base and becoming one of the first wildflowers to greet emerging bees and butterflies each year. The three-lobed, mottled green and reddish leaves remain evergreen through winter as a low basal rosette, distinguished from the closely related Sharp-Lobed Hepatica by the rounded (obtuse) tips of its three leaf lobes and its preference for drier, more acidic, sandy or stony soils in drier oak-hickory forest rather than the rich, base-rich soils of beech-maple forest. A long-lived perennial of extraordinary persistence — individual plants may live for decades — Round-Lobed Hepatica is best established from fall-planted divisions and takes 2–3 years to settle into its permanent location before flowering reliably each spring. Plant in moist to dry, well-drained, acidic, humus-rich woodland soil in deep shade under deciduous trees.

Plant fibrous root divisions in fall in moist to moderately dry, well-drained, slightly acidic, humus-rich, stony woodland soil in deep shade. Round-Lobed Hepatica tolerates somewhat drier, sandier, and more acidic soils than Sharp-Lobed Hepatica and is often found in drier oak-hickory woods.
