Опис

Direct sow after last frost in well-drained, dry to moderately moist, slightly alkaline to neutral soil in full sun — Rocky Mountain bee plant is a native annual of the Great Plains, Rocky Mountain foothills, and desert Southwest, producing clusters of showy, spidery, pink to white flowers on tall, branching, slightly pungent-scented stems from summer through fall. It is one of the most important native bee plants of the central US: bumblebees, mason bees, and honey bees are intensely attracted to the nectar-rich flowers, working the plants all day in good weather. The plant was an important food source for indigenous peoples of the Plains and Pueblos, who boiled the leaves as a green vegetable and rendered the plant to make a black dye used in pottery painting. It self-sows prolifically to naturalize in dry, open, sandy or rocky soils across a wide climate range. The musky scent (a defense against some insect herbivores) is more noticeable up close than at a distance. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 18–24 дюймів Висота: 24–48 дюймів Дні до схожості: 7–14 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 18–27°C
