Опис

Plant fresh acorns in fall or container trees in early spring in well-drained to moist, slightly acidic to neutral, deep soil in full sun; Shumard oak is the premier large native oak of the Gulf Coast and Deep South, growing faster than most oaks (2–3 feet per year when young) while developing into a large, long-lived specimen tree with spectacular deep red-to-scarlet fall color — one of the best oaks for fall color in zone 7–9 where many trees fail to color reliably. It tolerates brief flooding and clay soils better than many oaks, making it an excellent choice for urban and suburban landscapes in the South. The deeply lobed leaves with pointed tips are similar to pin oak but without the drooping lower branches. The acorns provide important fall food for turkeys, deer, and numerous bird species. An outstanding Gulf Coast street tree, shade tree, and wildlife tree. Спосіб посадки: Висадка розсади Відстань між рослинами: 360–600 дюймів Висота: 480–720 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–28 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 10–18°C
