Pineland Heliotrope is a native low-growing wildflower of the dry pinelands, pine flatwoods, and open sandy habitats of Florida and the Caribbean, producing a profusion of tiny yellow to creamy-white flowers on small, spreading, leafy mats throughout the warm season. A member of the borage family, the small flowers display the characteristic scorpioid cyme (coiled flower arrangement) of the heliotrope group and provide nectar for small native bees, Ceraunus Blue butterflies, and other small pollinators of the Florida pineland community. The narrow, resin-dotted, gland-bearing leaves give the plant a pleasant, somewhat spicy fragrance when brushed. Direct sow seeds in spring in sandy, well-drained, infertile, acidic soil in full sun; Pineland Heliotrope self-seeds freely in appropriate sandy conditions and is a useful groundcover for open, xeric Florida gardens where its continuous bloom and compact form fill bare sandy spaces with pollinators. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 6–12 дюймів Висота: 4–12 дюймів Дні до схожості: 7–21 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 21–29°C
