Опис

Plant small bulbs 2–3 inches deep in fall in well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral, dry to moderately moist soil in partial shade to full sun — violet woodsorrel is a charming native bulb of the eastern US prairies and open woodlands, producing clusters of small, five-petaled, rose-purple to violet flowers in spring above neat clover-like leaves with three heart-shaped leaflets that fold at night and in cloudy weather. It is one of the earliest-blooming spring bulbs in the native prairie garden, appearing alongside spring beauty and pasque flower. The corms multiply slowly each year to form small colonies that naturalize in open, well-drained, sunny to partially-shaded conditions. The leaves have a pleasant, mild lemony flavor (from oxalic acid, same as other woodsorrels and sheep sorrel) and can be eaten sparingly in small quantities as a tart, lemony salad accent. It goes dormant in summer heat and reemerges in fall with a brief second bloom before going dormant for winter. Спосіб посадки: Посадка цибулин Відстань між рослинами: 3–6 дюймів Висота: 4–8 дюймів
