Опис

Plant in moist to wet, slightly acidic, clay or heavy soil in full sun; Nuttall oak (Q. texana) is one of the most underused and underrated of all large southern oaks — a fast-growing (3–4 feet per year when young), majestic bottomland tree that reaches 60–90 feet with excellent scarlet fall color and one of the most important acorn crops of any oak, producing large (3/4 inch) acorns in abundance that are critical food for wood ducks, waterfowl, deer, squirrels, and turkeys. It is uniquely adapted to seasonally flooded, waterlogged clay soils where most trees cannot survive, making it the premier oak for wet, poorly drained sites, wet parking lot islands, and retention basin margins. Excellent fall color (brilliant scarlet) distinguishes it from most southern red-group oaks. Not to be confused with Q. nuttallii (same species, now synonymized as Q. texana). Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 360–600 дюймів Висота: 600–1080 дюймів Дні до схожості: 21–60 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 7–16°C
