'Navaho' is an erect, thornless blackberry that produces firm, very sweet berries with excellent shelf life on self-supporting canes. Because it grows upright it needs little or no trellising, though a single wire helps in windy sites. Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil and keep suckers thinned to maintain a manageable hedgerow. Prune out fruited floricanes each fall and tip new primocanes to encourage branching.
