Опис
Plant in well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral, moderately dry to moist soil in full sun to partial shade — narrowleaf bluestar from Arkansas is widely considered to have the finest fall color of any perennial plant in North America, its masses of thread-like, willow-narrow leaves turning brilliant, pure golden-yellow in September–October and holding the color for weeks, creating a soft, misty cloud of gold that is breathtaking in mass plantings. The spring bloom of pale blue, star-shaped flowers in May is also very attractive, and the fine, feathery summer texture contrasts beautifully with bold-leaved companions. It is exceptionally drought tolerant once established with a deep root system, heat tolerant to zone 9, and completely deer-resistant. The Perennial Plant Association named it Perennial Plant of the Year in 2011. A near-perfect low-maintenance native perennial — plant it in full sun to partial shade and essentially never tend to it again.

Direct sow seed in fall in well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral, sandy to loamy, moderately dry to moist soil in full sun to partial shade; narrowleaf bluestar is slow to establish from seed but extremely long-lived once settled — the fine-textured foliage and exceptional fall color are among the finest in the native perennial garden.
