Опис

Mexican Fan Palm is one of the most widely planted palms in the world, native to streams and oases in Sonora and Baja California, Mexico, and now the defining skyline palm of Los Angeles, the Gulf Coast, and tropical resort landscapes worldwide — its extremely slender, tall trunk topped by a compact crown of fan-shaped fronds is the prototypical palm silhouette recognized globally. Fast-growing (1–3 feet per year once established), it reaches 50–70 feet in cultivation and is among the most drought- and heat-tolerant of all palms, thriving in poor, sandy, alkaline soil with minimal irrigation once established. Clusters of small white flowers on arching inflorescences are followed by small black fruits that attract birds; the old fronds form a brown 'skirt' of dead leaves along the trunk unless trimmed for neatness. Plant in full sun in any well-drained soil; it is intolerant of wet, clay soils and prolonged cold below 22°F but otherwise requires minimal care. Спосіб посадки: Висадка розсади Відстань між рослинами: 120–180 дюймів Висота: 360–600 дюймів Дні до схожості: 30–60 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 21–27°C

Mexican Fan Palm tolerates drought, alkaline soil, and poor sandy soil remarkably well once established; avoid wet, poorly drained sites.
