Maarn is a classic orange ball dahlia that produces an abundance of round, uniform blooms perfect for cutting. The plants are large and well-balanced, often standing without staking, and they generate plenty of tubers for dividing. Plant tubers 4 to 6 inches deep in full sun and rich, well-drained soil after frost has passed. Cut flowers frequently and deadhead spent blooms to keep the plant producing all season. In zones colder than 8, dig and store the tubers in a cool, dry place over winter.
