Lisbon is a vigorous, cold-tolerant lemon that fruits heavily and produces classic tart, juicy fruit almost year-round in warm regions. Plant in full sun in fast-draining soil and keep the graft union above the soil line. In zones colder than 9, grow in a pot that can be moved indoors or to a bright greenhouse for winter. Feed with a citrus-specific fertilizer during active growth and water deeply but allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings. Thin fruit lightly on young trees so the branches are not overloaded.
