Lewis blue flax is a graceful native perennial that opens clear sky-blue flowers each morning atop slender, wiry stems. Sow seeds directly in spring or fall on well-drained soil, pressing them in lightly and keeping the surface moist until they sprout. Once established it is remarkably drought tolerant and thrives in full sun across a wide range of conditions. Allow spent flowers to set seed and it will self-sow to form drifts over time.
