Kura Clover

Inoculate with the specific kura clover rhizobia strain and broadcast at about 0.2-0.4 lb per 1,000 sq ft into a firm, weed-free seedbed no more than 0.25 inch deep. Kura clover establishes slowly during its first year because it invests heavily in rhizomes, but once established it forms a persistent living mulch. Its spreading roots fix nitrogen and provide erosion control and pollinator forage for many years. Manage rather than fully terminate it by mowing or suppressing with strip tillage so it regrows between cash crops. For complete removal, repeated tillage or cultivation is required because of its vigorous rhizomes.
