Опис

Key Thatch Palm is a small, slender native palm of the Florida Keys and Caribbean islands, growing in coastal strand, pine rocklands, and scrub habitats where its graceful trunk reaches 15–25 feet topped by a compact crown of fan-shaped leaves with distinctive silvery-white undersides that shimmer in the wind. The small, round white fruits are eaten by white-crowned pigeons, other fruit-eating birds, and small mammals, and the supple, long-lasting leaves were traditionally harvested by Caribbean and Florida Keys communities for thatching roofs, weaving hats, and making baskets. Requiring full sun, excellent drainage, and high salt tolerance, Key Thatch Palm is an excellent choice for coastal landscapes in Zones 10–11 where frost is rare or absent, and its slender, non-invasive root system makes it appropriate for tight spaces near hardscape. Plant fresh seeds in warm, moist, well-drained soil in full sun for germination in 2–4 months; seedlings develop slowly for several years before accelerating in their characteristic warm, sunny, frost-free environment. Спосіб посадки: Висадка розсади Відстань між рослинами: 96–144 дюймів Висота: 180–300 дюймів Дні до схожості: 60–120 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 24–32°C
