Опис
Plant in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial to full shade; this slow-growing Japanese native produces cascading mounds of arching, bamboo-like foliage that moves gracefully in the breeze. The golden-variegated cultivar 'Aureola' is the most commonly grown and lights up dark corners of the shade garden. Cut back to the ground in late winter before new growth emerges. Growth is slow for the first two years; resist the urge to overcrowd, as mature clumps need their full spacing to show the characteristic cascading habit to best effect. Divide in early spring every 4–5 years.

Plant divisions in spring as new growth begins; avoid late summer or fall division in colder zones, as plants need a full growing season to establish.
