Опис

Scatter seed on the surface of moist, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil in partial to full shade in early spring; jewelweed is a tall native annual of moist woodlands, stream banks, and swampy areas throughout most of North America — one of the few native annuals that thrives in deep shade and moist conditions. The orange, trumpet-shaped flowers are uniquely constructed with a curved spur and are the primary nectar source for ruby-throated hummingbirds in eastern North America during their southward fall migration. The ripe seed pods burst explosively when touched (hence 'touch-me-not'), flinging seeds up to 3–4 feet. Fresh crushed stems and leaves are widely used as a folk remedy to relieve the itch of poison ivy contact, with some evidence supporting anti-inflammatory compounds in the juice. Jewelweed is a powerful self-sower that naturalizes in moist, shaded areas and requires no care once established. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 6–12 дюймів Висота: 24–60 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–21 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 13–18°C
