Plant 'Heritage' canes in well-drained loam enriched with compost, spacing them 2-3 feet apart in rows. This reliable everbearing (primocane) variety fruits on first-year canes in late summer and again the following early summer. For a single heavy fall crop, mow all canes to the ground each late winter. Provide a trellis or T-post support and keep beds mulched to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
