Опис

Golden St. John's wort is a native deciduous shrub of dry, rocky hillsides and cedar glades in the southeastern United States, producing profuse, large, golden-yellow flowers with prominent, brush-like clusters of yellow stamens for several weeks in summer — among the most floriferous and ornamentally attractive of all native shrubs for dry, rocky, or difficult soil situations. Unlike the weedy, herbaceous common St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum), this species is a well-behaved woody shrub that stays in bounds without invasive spreading, making it an excellent low-maintenance landscape plant for dry sunny borders, rock gardens, and native shrub masses. The blue-green foliage and exfoliating gray bark are attractive through the growing season, and the persistent, reddish seed capsules provide winter interest; it is deer resistant and tolerates drought, heat, and poor soil with minimal care. An Award of Garden Merit recipient from the Royal Horticultural Society, it is popular in European gardens and deserves much wider use in American native plant landscapes as an alternative to non-native ornamental shrubs. Спосіб посадки: Висадка розсади Відстань між рослинами: 36–60 дюймів Висота: 24–48 дюймів Дні до схожості: 21–60 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 13–18°C
