Опис

Florida Goldenrod is a native perennial endemic to the sandy, xeric scrub, sandhill, and flatwoods habitats of the Florida peninsula, producing bright yellow flower spikes in fall that provide critical late-season nectar for native bees, monarch butterflies, and numerous other pollinators in the imperiled Florida scrub ecosystem. Distinctly compact compared to most goldenrods, with a more open, arching inflorescence suited to the sparse, sunny, sandy conditions of Florida's ancient scrub communities where many competing plants cannot grow. Like the other specialized plants of Florida's scrub, Florida Goldenrod depends on periodic, low-intensity fire to maintain the open, well-lit conditions it requires. Direct sow fresh seeds in fall in sandy, infertile, acidic, extremely well-drained soil in full sun; established plants are virtually maintenance-free and very drought-tolerant once the root system is established. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 12–18 дюймів Висота: 24–48 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–21 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 16–24°C

Florida Goldenrod is a Florida endemic best suited to xeric scrub, sandhill, and flatwoods habitats; it does not thrive in clay, amended, or waterlogged soils.
