Опис

Florida Blazingstar is a small native perennial endemic to the sandy scrub, sandhill, and dry flatwood communities of the Florida peninsula, producing slender spikes of small, pinkish-purple flower heads in fall that provide a vital late-season nectar source for native bees, skippers, and migrating monarchs in one of the most imperiled native plant communities in the United States. Adapted to the infertile, extremely well-drained, white-sand soils of Florida's ancient scrub ridges, this compact blazingstar forms tight clumps from persistent corms in habitats that most other plants cannot tolerate. Like other Florida scrub plants, it depends on periodic, low-intensity fire to maintain the open, sunny conditions it requires. Direct sow fresh seeds in fall in pure, infertile, sandy, acidic soil in full sun; established plants require no supplemental irrigation or fertilization in appropriate xeric conditions. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 9–15 дюймів Висота: 12–24 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–21 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 18–27°C
