Опис

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic, fertile soil in partial shade to full sun; clustering fishtail palm is one of the most distinctive and architecturally unusual of all tropical palms, producing large, bipinnate fronds composed of distinctive irregularly triangular leaflets that look exactly like the tails of fish — a completely different texture from the familiar pinnate or palmate fronds of most palms. The multiple, slender stems grow in tight clusters, producing a graceful, multi-trunked tropical form that is outstanding as a large specimen or informal privacy screen. Each individual stem blooms once (from the top of the trunk down over several years) and then dies, but the cluster as a whole persists indefinitely as new stems are produced from the base. The fruits and fallen berries contain calcium oxalate crystals that cause intense irritation to skin — collect and dispose of fallen fruit promptly, and wear gloves when working near fruiting clusters. An outstanding specimen palm for sheltered zone 9–12 landscapes. Спосіб посадки: Висадка розсади Відстань між рослинами: 60–120 дюймів Висота: 120–360 дюймів Дні до схожості: 30–90 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 24–29°C

The berries and fruit are extremely irritating to skin and mucous membranes — wear gloves when handling fallen fruit.
