Опис

Direct sow in spring in well-drained, slightly alkaline to neutral, moderately moist to dry soil in full sun — prairie gentian is the wild ancestor of the popular florist lisianthus, a Gulf Coast native annual of wet prairies and roadsides from Texas to Florida that produces elegant, upward-facing, funnel-shaped flowers in clear blue-purple with a velvety texture and a prominent yellow and white center — one of the most beautiful wildflower blooms on the Gulf Coast prairies. The florist lisianthus (E. grandiflorum) is a cultivated form of this species bred for larger, showier, often double flowers in expanded color ranges. The native species is shorter, tougher, and self-sows freely in Gulf Coast gardens, returning annually in open, sunny, slightly alkaline areas. The silvery-blue to blue-gray, glaucous, clasping leaves are attractive even out of bloom. A lovely wildflower for naturalistic prairie plantings, roadsides, and open, sunny garden borders in the Gulf Coast region. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 8–12 дюймів Висота: 12–24 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–28 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 18–24°C
