Dr. Ruppel is a vigorous large-flowered clematis with pink, star-shaped blooms accented by a bold magenta bar down each petal. Give it a sunny position for the vines but keep the roots cool and shaded with mulch or low companion plantings. Provide a trellis, arbor, or fence for the climbing stems to grip, and tie in new growth as needed.
