Опис

Cylindrical Blazingstar is a compact, drought-tolerant native perennial of dry prairies, rocky outcrops, calcareous alvars, and gravelly open woodlands of the Great Lakes region and Midwest, producing spikes of few, widely spaced, cylindrical purple flower heads on stiff, slender stems in July and August that are prized for cut flowers and dried arrangements as well as for their wildlife value. Notably more drought-tolerant than most blazingstars and specifically adapted to thin, rocky, calcareous or gravelly soils of limestone outcrops and dry prairie remnants, Cylindrical Blazingstar is an outstanding choice for rock gardens, xeriscapes, and dry native plant gardens across the northern United States. The compact size and long vase life of the cut flowers make it one of the most popular Liatris species among native plant enthusiasts and cut flower gardeners. Direct sow fresh seeds in fall in rocky, sandy, or gravelly, well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soil in full sun; established corms are extremely long-lived and slowly form clumps. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 12–18 дюймів Висота: 12–30 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–21 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 13–21°C
