Опис
Plant in moist, slightly acidic, well-drained to moderately moist soil in full sun to partial shade; white fringetree is one of the most spectacular spring-flowering native plants in North America, producing masses of drooping, fringe-like, pure white flower panicles (each petal strap-shaped and narrow, like white fringe) that completely cover the plant in late spring, appearing briefly after the leaves emerge. The effect of a fully bloomed fringetree — a large, billowing cloud of pure white flowers — is extraordinary. Female plants produce dark blue-purple olive-like berries in fall that are important food for birds; the leaves turn clear yellow in fall. Remarkably adaptable — tolerating partial shade, moderate drought, clay soils, and a very wide hardiness range (zone 3–9). One of the most valuable and versatile native large shrubs or small trees for the American garden, yet widely underplanted. Slow to establish but very long-lived.

Час посадки: -4–2 тижнів spring
Plant container or balled-and-burlapped shrubs in late winter or spring in moist, slightly acidic, well-drained to moderately moist soil in full sun to partial shade; fringetrees are dioecious — female plants produce ornamental black berries if a male is nearby, though both sexes bloom spectacularly.
