Опис

Sow seed in fall in moist, humus-rich, slightly acidic to neutral soil in partial to full shade — tall bellflower is a striking native biennial of eastern forest understories that can reach 3–6 feet tall when in bloom, producing a long terminal raceme and lateral branches covered with flat, five-lobed blue-violet flowers that open wide (unlike the nodding, bell-shaped flowers of most bellflowers) throughout summer. It is one of the most shade-tolerant native wildflowers capable of producing impressive flowering stems in quite deep shade. The long, curved styles and protruding stamens give the flowers a distinctive star-burst appearance. The plant is a true biennial — forming a rosette in year one, blooming and setting seed in year two, then dying. Self-sows reliably in appropriate conditions to maintain a naturalized colony. An outstanding native plant for creating a vertical accent in the shaded native garden in zones 3–8. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 12–18 дюймів Висота: 24–72 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–21 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 13–18°C
