Black Knight tatsoi is a heirloom Asian green forming tidy rosettes of dark, spoon-shaped leaves with a sweet, mild mustard flavor. Direct-sow shallowly in early spring and again in late summer, thinning plants to 6-10 inches for full rosettes or leaving them close for baby greens. Harvest outer leaves cut-and-come-again, or cut the whole rosette; the plant tolerates hard frost and sweetens in cold weather. It grows quickly and does well in containers and cold frames for winter harvests.
