Опис

Plant rhizome divisions in moist, rich, slightly acidic to neutral soil in partial shade to full sun; giant cane is the only bamboo native to North America, once forming vast canebrakes across the South and Mississippi Valley that were critical habitat for the now-extinct Carolina parakeet and Bachman's warbler, as well as important forage for Swainson's warbler. The young shoots in spring are edible, similar to commercial bamboo shoots, and were an important food source for Native American peoples. The mature canes were used for tools, weapons, and construction. As a landscape plant it provides fast-growing subtropical screening and naturalistic structure. It spreads aggressively by rhizome and should be managed; use underground root barriers to contain it in smaller spaces. The plant supports several rare specialist moth species. Спосіб посадки: Розмноження діленням куща Відстань між рослинами: 36–60 дюймів Висота: 120–360 дюймів Дні до схожості: 21–42 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 18–24°C
