Sow seed in fall in well-drained to average, slightly acidic to neutral, dry to moist soil in partial shade — tall thimbleweed is an upright, woodland-edge native anemone whose white, 1–1.5 inch flowers are followed by the plant's most distinctive feature: elongated, thimble-shaped seed heads that are covered in cottony white fibers (resembling a thimble wrapped in white fluff) and persist well into winter, providing long-lasting ornamental value. The flowers attract solitary native bees and small beetles. It grows naturally in dry to moist open woodland, woodland edges, and clearings throughout the eastern and central US, tolerating the dry shade beneath dense tree canopies better than most native wildflowers. The persistent cottony seed heads are useful in dried arrangements. More drought-tolerant than most anemone species. An excellent and underused native for dry, shaded woodland garden settings. Спосіб посадки: Посів у відкритий ґрунт Відстань між рослинами: 12–18 дюймів Висота: 24–36 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–28 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 13–18°C
