Опис

Plant in moist, humus-rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soil in partial to full shade; red buckeye is one of the finest native shrubs for the shaded garden, producing upright panicles of brilliant scarlet-red tubular flowers in April and May precisely timed to the return of ruby-throated hummingbirds from migration. The flowers are visited almost exclusively by hummingbirds and are among the most important early-season hummingbird plants available. It grows naturally as a forest understory shrub throughout the Southeast and performs exceptionally well in zone 8–9 Gulf Coast gardens in partial shade. The glossy, palmate compound leaves are attractive all season but the plant goes fully dormant in summer heat — mark its location and interplant with later-season companions. The large, mahogany-colored seeds are toxic to humans and livestock. Спосіб посадки: Висадка розсади Відстань між рослинами: 60–96 дюймів Висота: 60–120 дюймів Дні до схожості: 14–28 Температура ґрунту для схожості: 13–18°C
